What happens once I'm employed? [-]

Our support does not stop once you get a job — it just begins. Our trained staff will support you during the important initial period of work and beyond.

  • We meet the employer to discuss your employment with them and make sure that you are treated equally as one of the workforce:
  • We make sure that you have a contract of employment, and receive a fair wage
  • We make sure that you get a proper induction to the job and that any training needs are met
  • We make sure you receive adequate Health and Safety instructions
  • We make sure you are happy with all the arrangements.

MTIB regularly monitor the progress of WORKSTEP participants and carry out at least two visits a year. We ask you and your employer for an update on what you have done in work and whether anything else needs doing to help you.
