The Gateway to Employment with MTIB

MTIB has recently been awarded funding to operate the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) Engagement Gateway. The WCVA is the voice of the voluntary sector in Wales and they represent and campaign for voluntary organisations, volunteers and communities. The Engagement Gateway is a scheme supported by funding from the European Union that aims to reduce economic inactivity in Wales and improve the employability of disadvantaged people furthest from the labour market.
MTIB and Pluss - looking to the future together.

2010 will be a year of major change for MTIB as we begin to implement the transformation from the current Workstep scheme to the new Work Choice programme, which will occur following a review of disability services from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP). The new Work Choice programme comes into effect from October 2010 and takes forward changes to the Specialist Disability Employment Provision, which will replace the existing DWP Workstep, WorkPrep and the Job Introduction Scheme programmes. The aim of Work Choice is to bring together the best elements of Workstep and Work Preparation into a new unified programme, aimed at providing a more tailored, coherent range of specialist employment services, which can respond more flexibly to the individual needs of persons with disabilities and health conditions, and employers. The transformation will also see significant changes to the contracting process. In Wales there will be two Prime Contract Package Areas (CPAs); CPA 5 (South East and North Wales) and CPA 6 (The Valleys and South West Wales).
