Investors in People

In 1998, MTIB is accredited with Investors in People Status in its seventy fifth anniversary year. This award recognises the Institute in meeting the national standard for effective investment in people.

Positive About Disabled People

Recognition of being positive about disabled people.

Western Mail Business Awards

In 2001, MTIB were finalists in the people development category.

Wales Quality Award People Development Prize

In 2000, MTIB wins the Wales Quality Award People Development Prize Sponsored by the Employment Services.

Child Safety Campaign Award, annually since 2004

In recognition of invaluable support in the promotion of safety awareness amongst local children.

Health & Safety

Promoting Health & Safety in small workplaces.

Smoking Cessation

A series of weekly meetings was held to promote non-smoking, detailing the damage and the effects it can cause.

Computer Courses

MTIB and the Merthyr Tydfil College have combined to hold computer courses held at the Institute every Wednesday and Thursday. Employees and members of the public have the opportunity to attend courses in OCR New CLAIT, OCR CLAIT Plus and Touch-typing (sighted & blind).

Mid Glamorgan Education Business Partnership Award

In June 2006, MTIB was awarded an EBP award in recognition of their achievement of raising awareness of the nature of our business

Healthy Eating Awareness

MTIB promotes healthy eating awareness, and actively participates in healthy eating breakfast clubs, monthly.
